Governance Rapidfire Recap
It’s been the busiest week for our governance forum since the Index Coop was created, lets break down what’s been going on;
New Official Logo - Inje has called a vote on whether we stick with the current owl emoji or move to a brand new design. Discussion focused around ways to make the branding more professional, and the potential for further work or even a contest to come up with a logo for the Coop.
IIP Voting Analysis - Dylan posted a deep dive on the Coinshares vote and what it the result would be if we applied quadratic voting. The idea is to scale back whales voting power in order to allow the Set and DeFi Pulse teams to start voting with their unvested tokens, without totally dominating the votes.
Investment Committee - New face in the community Verto0912 has proposed we form an investment committee to deep dive tokens held by our indexes. By enabling people to become experts in these projects through their research, we can provide insight alongside the products and grow our credibility as a Cooperative. Overall the proposal has been popular and a number of additional avenues for growth and marketing have been suggested.
Add content to DPI webpage - in a similar vein to the above, another new member DevOnDeFi put forward some suggestions regarding the Index website, in particular adding assets such as monthly update documents and a ‘how to buy’ guide. Adding these extras to the page would not only help potential customers, but also the Index Coop as we can track the user journey and take insights from the data.
Intrinsic Productivity - OverAnalyser is back with a simplified proposal for what is a very complex and novel idea, farming the tokens that underpin the DPI. Further discussion regarding intrinsic productivity takes place in the Product meeting, details can be found in our Discord.
Treasury Analytics Dashboard - This post is a call for ideas to help increase the transparency around our treasury. Tenacious Terrier is kicking off a project to create a dashboard for all the data around our incomings and outgoings, as well as more detailed analysis around the $INDEX token itself.
There’s more of course, and you can check the most recent posts at this link but I think that’s plenty for now. Lets look at some tweets shall we…

The BTC > ETH > DPI meme continues to permeate crypto Twitter, powerful stuff.
#indexchallenge brief update
Just to say the challenge finished up on the 5th Jan and saw a flurry of extremely creative entries towards the end. There were cakes, games, videos, art and memes aplenty. Inje is now working to judge all the submissions and the winners will be announced next week!
Index Insider - Andrew J
Hey can you give us a little introduction? My name is Andrew and I'm from London. I worked in finance for just under 10 years. More specifically I worked in operations and processing for lending/borrowing and collateralization for a major asset manager. (The department was called "Securities Finance" or "SeFi" if you will...) I was always frustrated with the chronic inefficiencies within the traditional financial system. Then a friend of mine who is very into crypto introduced me to DeFi this year. It certainly looks like a very promising space! I'm learning fast and found out about Index through an email from sets after getting some DPI. Would absolutely love to learn more, contribute and participate in the potential of the whole crypto space.
What attracted you to the Index Coop? I have always been drawn to indexes and ETFs for ways to invest in a quick, easy, efficient and diversified manner. It's great to see the same idea already being applied within the crypto space. The website is well designed and easy to use. The openness of the community has been the icing on the cake :)
How big do you think Index Coop can grow? Here's a quote from the Expanded Vision of Index Coop from the forum "In the next 5-10 years, it can be imagined that people can get Index Coop products on the NYSE, Nasdaq, and via retirement accounts." The first thing that came into my mind was: In the next 5-10 years people could be coming TO Index Coop for products ON the NYSE (assuming tokenisation of traditional financial assets etc) Ok so maybe a bit ambitious. But Murphy's law says anything that can happen will eventually happen. Index Coop is the first step!
What products/ integrations would you like to see? As above the tokenisation and subsequent index'ing of traditional global financial assets. More specifically to Index in the nearer term I would like to see index's for each sub group of crypto such as exchanges, nfts and oracles such as LINK and BAND etc.
Anything you’re working on in the Coop? I only found out about Index Coop this week (December) but hopefully I'll be involved with plenty soon! Favourite things about the community: So far I have been really impressed with the vision, the professionalism, openness, friendliness, the attention to detail and above all the culture of everyone being equal and treated with respect.
Thanks Andrew!
