Index Insider - S Lavi
Tell us about yourself: My name is Lavi, I work in the traditional banking sector and I’ve been in crypto since early 2017.
What attracted you to Index Coop? I started looking into DeFi this summer, so I was a frequent visitor to defipulse.com. However, I first heard of Index Coop in an AMA with Felix from Set on the Bankless YouTube channel. So I started looking into Set protocol as well as DPI and joined the liquidity mining program.
What are you favourite things about DPI? Keeping up with the developments in DeFi is a full-time job. It can be very difficult and time consuming to separate “good” projects from worthless hype tokens. In that regard the DPI is a big relief, because it rotates tokens in and out, so that I can be assured that it will always contain the “blue-chips” of DeFi, and I don’t have to research every project myself. It is also very convenient and cheaper, as I only have to buy one token instead of 10.
Are there any other products you’d like to see? In the future, I would like to see the Coop providing leveraged index products. I’m not sure if I would actually use them, but I believe that the demand for such products is quite high. I would also appreciate indices with an emphasis on impact investing (i.e. investing in companies/start-ups by not only focusing on financial returns, but also taking into account ecological or social impacts), which is something that the traditional financial sector needed decades to come up with. And last but not least, I would argue that the Coop should also look into investment opportunities outside of the Ethereum ecosystem, e.g. by providing “cross-chain” themed indices.
What are your favourite things about being in the community? Within the Coop community, I really appreciate how I was welcomed. I almost immediately received an invite to a call, after I posted a few words into the “introduction” channel. Furthermore, I think it’s great how much effort goes into creating opportunities for people to get involved and contribute to the community, e.g. bounty program, index challenge, open chat discussions, call invites, etc.
